NPPD presents CSC with efficiency grant

Representatives from Nebraska Public Power District presented Chadron State officials with a check for $27,405. The money came from NPPD’s EnergyWise program, which offers rewards for energy efficiency improvements. The added efficiency largely came from switching to more efficient fluorescent light bulbs in Old Admin and Sparks Hall.

Lehman settles case over wife’s death

David Lehman has settled with Wal-Mart over his wife’s death. Lehman’s wife Julie died a week after slipping and falling in the Chadron Wal-Mart July 21, 2009. The impact caused subdural hematoma, which is bleeding on the brain.
No details have been released regarding the settlement, which was reached out of court.
