Country singers optioned for Galaxy Series event

Shellie Johns, coordinator of conferencing, presented voting on next year’s specialty Galaxy Series at the Campus Activities Board meeting Tuesday.

“This year you guys are bringing in InPulse,” Johns said.

The specialty account is made up of funds from the community.

A country-western singer will be brought in with funds limited to $20,000. Potential singers include: Chris Cagle, Darryl Worley, Joe Nichols, and Chris Young.

CAB members were asked to vote for their favorites, one through four.

  • Johns also presented a magician from University of Wyoming.
    “He’s trying to get on campuses,” Johns said.
    She said, “He’s usually $6,000, but we can get him for $2,000.”
  • The Spring Days shirts have been finalized, Jordan Haas, student events, junior of Hemingford, said.
    The shirts are black with the fabulous Las Vegas logo. “Welcome to Fabulous Chadron State” is printed on the front with “What happens in Chadron…” on the back.
  • CAB Treasurer Christine Aye, sophomore of Burma, reported that there is $2442.50 in the CAB account.
  • The Student Alumni Council asked that students submit photos of club activities for the senior DVD.
    Photos can be emailed to Leslie Bargen, special events coordinator, at lbargen@csc.edu.
  • The Blue Key is hosting their annual Blue Balls Dodgeball Tournament and asked that all forms be turned in to the CAB office by noon today.
  • Tami Fosher, Residence Life Director, said that Mr. and Miss Chadron is planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Center.
