The last “Open Mic” of the semester was hosted at 8 p.m. April 23 at the Bean Broker Coffee House.

Chadron softball came out of the dugout and got on the scoreboard early Tuesday. All that stood between securing a seat in the conference tournament was a strong Kearney Lopers team.

The Chadron State College men’s track members placed well at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, and at a separate meet at Hastings College on Saturday.

Rodeo individuals came away strong from the Northeastern Junior College Rodeo in Sterling, Colo., Coach Dustin Luper said.

The students in the HIST 441/541 class are attending a pre-departure orientation meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Student Center Scottsbluff room in preparation for their trip, which is scheduled for August 5 – 17.

During the trip, the students will explore the Canada-U.S. borderlands and Old Oregon Country in particular, which includes the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Western Alberta, as well as Western Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

The urban, environmental, and immigrational history of the regions will be studied as part of the course.

The program participants also organized a fundraiser luncheon from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday in Scottsbluff room.

The International Club is hosting a graduation reception for graduating international students May 9 after the graduation ceremony.

The reception is being organized by Frances Gonzalez, tutorial services counselor and sponsor of the International Club.

The Eagle won 25 awards, including nine first-place finishes at the Nebraska Collegiate Media Association’s annual Golden Leaf Awards hosted Saturday at CSC.

A new executive board was voted on and sworn in at the Senate meeting Monday.
