Eagles over-shoot at Maverick Invite

The Chadron State College golf team placed seventh Tuesday after shooting a 703 in Mesa State’s Maverick Invitational in Grand Junction, Colo.

The Chadron team shot a 352 on Monday, and a 351 Tuesday at the 36-hole, two day meet.

Western New Mexico placed first with a 607, followed by Mesa State College with a 637 for second, and Montana St. Billings with a 648.

Allison Rowden, junior of Broken Bow, placed tenth, shooting a 76 on Monday and an 87 on Tuesday for a total of 163.

Caitlin Parker, senior of Rock Springs, Wyo., shot a 90 Monday and an 88 on Tuesday, placing her 29th with a total score of 178.

The CSC golf team started its spring season at the Fort Hays State University Spring Thaw in Mesa, Arizona. The Eagles finished 10th place with a total team score of 706 with the help of freshman Sam Rahmig, of Gering, and Schuyler Wetzel, senior of Hot Springs, South Dakota. Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, won the tournament with a team score of 623.

Golfers finish 11th in RMAC tourney

The CSC golf team finished the RMAC Tournament #2 in 11th place at the University of New Mexico Golf Course, in Albuquerque, with a two round total of 693. Although the Eagles dropped one place lower than the last RMAC event, the team as a whole improved by three strokes.

Golf team earns 4th at Augustana

The Chadron State golf team began the tournament in the Augustana Fall Invitational at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with a shaky start due to unfavorable weather conditions. The team improved by 28 strokes Sunday, to tie the University of Sioux Falls for fourth place out of eight teams.
