The women’s basketball team, after losing five games straight, now sits in the bottom half of the table due to an 8-17 record (8-13 RMAC.)

This weekend the Eagles fell to both the UCCS Mountain Lions, 71-70, and the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves, 79-52, on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Despite a tough loss to the Mountain Lions, Kada Williams, senior of Green River, Wyo., put together her career best performance. Williams sunk 14 points in the first half, matching her previous personal best, and added eight more in the second half to set a new career high total of 22. Williams was eight of 13 from the field with two of three 3-pointers, dropped in four of her five free throws, and managed to snag seven rebounds.

Kaitlin Petri, senior of Kearney, put together her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and the game-high 11 rebounds.

In the midst of a disappointing loss to the ThunderWolves, Petri performed superbly, managing to scrounge up 19 points and nine rebounds which were the game highs in their categories.

The Eagles netted only 18 of 62 attempts at basket for a sour 29 percent shooting.

The Eagles face the University of Nebraska- Kearney this Saturday, Feb. 25, at home to close out the season.
