Interim coaches promoted
Joel Smith Jr., athletic director at Chadron State, announced on Monday that Brad Gamble will be the 25th head track and field coach. Gamble was the interim coach for the Eagles during the 2014 season.
Along with a new track and field coach, Smith appointed a new cross country coach. Brian Medigovich, previously the interim head coach, became the eighth coach in Chadron State history.
Gamble, a former trackster at Chadron State, was a national heptathlon champion in 2011, where he set a Division II Indoor record. While an assistant, Gamble coached 10 All-Americans, 33 RMAC champions, and three second-place finishes at the conference championships.
As the interim head coach, Medigovich helped the men’s team jump up seven places at the regional championship. Medigovich was previously an assistant at Cuesta Community College and Adams State University before joining the coaching staff at CSC.
