Golf to open season Friday
The Chadron State women’s golf team will open its season with a triangular against South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State University at the Hart Ranch, outside Rapid City, South Dakota. NCAA policies say that all golf teams cannot begin practice until the fourth day of classes. The team’s first practice will be today at Ridgeview Country Club.
Returning players include seniors Emma Harris, of Wahoo, and Schuyler Wetzel, of Hot Springs, South Dakota, respectively. Also returning to the green for the Eagles are sophomores Mikayla Gallagher of Spearfish, South Dakota, Kelli Haynes, of Whitney, and Karson Langley, of Sidney. The Eagles also brought in two freshman, Samantha Rahmig, of Gering, and Mariah Zavadil, of Crofton. Terri Connealy will return for her fifth season as the head coach.
The team has five outings this fall including the Hart Ranch triangular.
