CSC kicked off official Homecoming Week festivities with the Spirit Rally and Bonfire in the Backyard Monday night. RLA hosted the event and was excited to see the turnout of students that attended.
Associate Director of RLA Taylor Osmotherly said that the event brought out 350 students.
“I was expecting about 200 students,” Osmotherly said. “It’s great to see students are showing up and having a good time at the programs we work really hard to put on.”
RLA provided 250 “Wizard of Oz” themed Homecoming t-shirts, but quickly ran out. Students were provided with hot dogs and drinks while they listened to this season’s accomplishments and hopes of the CSC’s fall sports teams: football, volleyball, cross country, and softball. The Eagle Dance Team and the CSC Cheer Team both showcased their talents and performed at the spirit rally.
After the entertainment, s’mores were on everyone’s mind as they quickly huddled around the bonfire.
“We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better night for a bonfire,” said Osmotherly.
