RLA hosts movie marathon in a galaxy far, far away

As the great Yoda reminds us, “May the force be with you”.

This quote was given to the CSC students as they took off into another galaxy to watch the Jedi and the Dark side clash head to head at the RLA’s Star Wars Marathon, Monday through Thursday night in the Hub.

Students gathered to watch every Star Wars movie over four nights. RLA showed the movies in the controversial, chronological order so that those who weren’t familiar with the franchise could easily catch on.

“My friend Blake Jacobs is a huge Star Wars fan and he was the inspiration behind the program,” Cory Martens, 22, senior of Newton, Kansas, said.

They were expecting about 100 people to make it throughout the week. So far, there have been just over 60 that have come out to watch. Everyone who participated would get the chance to watch their favorite Star Wars movie and characters when the time came.

“I would say my favorite is the original Star Wars movie, Star Wars: A New Hope,” Martens said. He also said that his favorite character was Hans Solo.

The event seemed to have a sound lift off with a lot of positive feedback from those who attended. For those who missed the event, there is a possibility it will be held next year. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to miss it twice.
