Over 100 prizes given away at Casino Night
CAB teamed up with RLA and The Pit to bring big prizes and fun at Casino Night, Friday at the Student Center.
Former Chair of CAB, Trista Schell, 23, senior of Rapid City, South Dakota, said that CAB set a date for Casino Night at the beginning of the semester. They started officially planning the event about a month ago.
CAB planned for 200 people to attend, but only 120 students showed.
“It was a little less than we were expecting, but still really successful,” Schell said.
Texas Hold ‘em, roulette, blackjack and craps tables were set up throughout The Pit and the Student Center, along with shrimp cocktail, dessert and mocktails.
Schell said, “Walking into The Pit was like walking into a real casino. People were standing chest to back and shoulder to shoulder reaching in to get into these tables. It was really cool to see.”
Whether they participated in the games or came to watch, students had chances to win big prizes. Over 100 prizes were given out, especially large prizes. The large prizes included a futon, a flat-screen TV, a camera, a computer, a playstation, a minifridge, tablets, and Beats headphones.
“I was definitely most excited to see everyone’s expressions when their names got called for prizes,” current Chair of CAB Kimberly Hernandez, 21, junior of Scottsbluff, said.
