CAB’s first free bowling night deemed success
During Tuesday night’s CAB meeting, Adviser Pat Beu reminded representatives that the “Dine With Us” International Student Lunch Hours begin next Thursday, Jan. 25, in the Student Center.
Beu encouraged students to spread the word and attend the luncheons.
The first luncheon will be hosted by Vietnamese international student, Yen Nguyen, 20, sophomore of Hanoi, Vietnam.
“I’m looking forward to what Yen has to share about a Vietnamese perspective on her education here in America,” Beu said.
Also discussed at Tuesday’s meeting was Student Senate’s need for more senators. Senators are needed to represent BEAMSS, Liberal Arts, At Large, Edna, High Rise and Eagle Ridge.
“Stop into the Senate office and grab an application,” Chair Kimberly Hernandez said. “It’s a great way to get involved if you’re wanting to. It’s fun and a nice thing to put on your resume.”
The spring 2018 free movie nights will take place on Jan. 28, Feb. 18, March 18 and April 15. Vice Chair of Programming Isabella Irish asked representatives to take the dates back to their clubs, and make plans to attend those events.
Hernandez said that 155 students
attended last Sunday’s free bowling night which was a huge success. However, only 39 students attended Friday’s “I Hate Winter Week” pool party.
“We are going to have more [free bowling night events], so keep your ear out for when we announce that,” Hernandez said.
As for the pool party, Hernandez said that they will try harder to attract larger crowds in the future.
