CSC Rodeo Team stands out at Gillette College

The CSC Rodeo team traveled to Gillette, Wyoming over the weekend to participate in the Gillette College Rodeo.
The CSC cowboys’ impressive performance led to their tie for top honors with the University of Wyoming, Laramie.
Prestyn Novak, senior of Newell, South Dakota, led the team in points by
placing first in steer wrestling and third in tie down roping.
In the first go-round for steer
wrestling, Novak came out on top. He
repeated his first-place performance again when he won the first round for tie down roping.
Novak also won the all-around crown.
Rowdy Moon, of Sargent, won the bareback category with a total score of 138 points. In the opening round, Moon scored 71 points, and placed second in the finals on Sunday with a score of 67 points.
Moon has now taken the lead in
regional standings after his performance last weekend and winning the bareback riding competition at the Laramie County Community College rodeo the weekend of March 2.
Cody Trump, of Merriman, was sixth in the opening round of saddle bronc
riding, racking up 60 points, but took home the win when he scored 67 points in the final round.
Devin Dibbern, of Riverdale, earned fifth place in the steer wrestling averages.
The outstanding showing by the
cowboys moved CSC to fifth in the
Central Rocky Mountain Region
standings.
The region includes schools across Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado, ranging from junior colleges to Division I schools.
The Eagles will head to Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming this weekend for their next rodeo.
