CAB tabled the vote on student government moving weekly meeting times to Monday nights after clubs provided input during Tuesday’s meeting, the first CAB meeting of the semester.
CAB Chair Kimberly Hernandez discussed a proposal to change the meeting time of CAB to 5 p.m. on Monday nights prior to the Senate meetings at 5:30 p.m.
“The purpose of this (change) is for productivity, being more proactive than reactive, and we can present information to Senate quicker than we usually do,” Hernandez said.
CAB representatives discussed pros and cons of the proposal, and decided to postpone voting until the following CAB meeting in order to discuss the proposal with club members.
“We will not initiate (the change) until it passes through Senate as well, which won’t be until late September, early October,” Hernandez said.
This proposal in CAB came after discussion was raised during Monday’s Senate meeting.
There will be a mandatory club fair from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Student Center Ballroom. Each club must have at least one person stationed at their table for the duration of the event.
Revised club packets are due at the next CAB meeting Tuesday. An email was sent out from CAB to clubs with instructions on how to complete club packets. All clubs need to submit updated rosters and executive boards.
During the meeting, Student Activities Coordinator Megan Northrup opened up discussion to CAB representatives about Dress Up Days during Homecoming week. Northrup proposed three options: dress up days centered around student events, one big dress up day at the end of the week, or that dress up days remain the same, with themed dress up days each day of the week. After a vote, CAB representatives voted to combine the two ideas into one, eliminating daily dress-up days.
Last Thursday, 218 students attended free movie night.
Vice Chair of Programming Hannah Fessler encouraged CAB representatives to spread the word about the first Free Bowling Night from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9 at Hilltop Lanes.
Northrup also discussed the Super Fan U app, notifying representatives that activities can be added to the app. If a club has an upcoming event, club members can use an electronic submission form on the CSC website to have their events added to the Super Fan U app.
The Vice Chair of Public Relations position is open for nomination. CAB members who have been involved for at least one semester are eligible, and those interested in the position can contact CAB for more information.
