Take time to focus on your self

We have two months left of this year. That is not a lot of time for all the things that need to happen in that time. Between holidays, studying, finals, work and all the other things that go on in our life, there is a lot going on. During this extremely busy time of year, we might lose sight of what we really want and need to do for ourselves.

I know that I get caught up in all the things I have to do that I forget about the things I need to do to take care of myself. Before the holiday season and crazy end of school schedule kicks in I have a challenge for you. No matter who you are or where you are in life, take 15 minutes out of your day to write down the things that are important to you.

This list doesn’t need to be super long, and there’s no real requirements to how many you should have. But take time to right down what you don’t want to forget to do to help yourself.

For some, your list may include taking time to go to the gym, writing, spending 30 minutes to simply unwind or watching a new movie every week. Others may want to take time to play with their dog, do a girls or guys night, play pool or make sure to call home every other day.

Maybe add something to the list you’d like to start doing. Maybe you want to read a book a month or start going to the gym. Include that in the list too! Just don’t add too many new things into your list or it might be hard to stay on top of all the things you need to remind yourself of.

Whatever you want to remind yourself not to lose sight of during this very busy season take time to write it down and put it somewhere where you can see it everyday. The last thing you want to do is wake up one day after the new year and feel absolutely run down. Take time for yourself and to do what you love. Try and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
