Chadron State’s football team kicked off its spring game at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Elliott Field. The graduate assistant coaches split the squad into two separate teams, Cardinal and White. Head Coach Jay Long invited RMAC officials to referee the game, which helped the incoming players’ to play under real game conditions, Long said.

The Chadron State College football team played their annual spring scrimmage on Saturday, April 21, at Elliot Field, which resulted in the victory of the Cardinal team over the White 20-10.
The coaching staff has had a successful recruiting process, according to Jay Long, the football coach, despite the recent NCAA investigation. According to long, 54 players have been added to the roster this year, and the possibility of NCAA sanctions did not hinder the recruiting process.
