Eagle wrestlers prepare for NSU Wolves

Chadron State College’s wrestlers are preparing to enter the ring Saturday at 4 p.m. to face Northern State University, Burnsville, Minn. Northern State, ranked 7th by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason poll, is led by junior Matt Meuleners of Young American, Minn, who claimed the NCAA DII championship in the heavyweight class last year.

The Chadron State College women’s basketball team traveled to Spearfish, S.D., last Tuesday to take on Black Hills State University. The lady Eagles were looking to tally their first win of the season and gain some momentum before heading to Colorado for back-to-back games.

Emotions were high last Saturday at Elliot Field, when the Eagles hosted Colorado Mesa University. Not only was it the final game of the season, but for 10 seniors, it was also the final game of their Chadron career.

Chadron’s men’s basketball team hasn’t claimed a victory yet this season, but they’ve certainly come close. The Eagles’ first two games against Montana State University Billings and the University of Mary, Bismarck, N.D. have been decided by margins of 4 and 1 points, respectively.
