The CSC softball team won a scrimmage against a team of CSC’s softball alumni Saturday. The annual scrimmage is used as an opportunity to raise funds through a free will donation fundraiser to go toward breast cancer awareness.
On the final regular season series, the Eagles split the four-game series with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Eight seniors were honored in their last home games with CSC. On day one, the Eagles won the first game, 7-1, but lost the second, 2-1. During the second day, the Eagles earned a come-back victory 5-4, but lost the second in extra innings, 8-5.
Last weekend, the Eagles traveled to Spearfish, South Dakota, to play the struggling Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets. The Eagles won all four games against the Yellow Jackets. CSC had never swept a team on their home field before. The Eagles made quick work of the Yellow Jackets throughout the weekend only having one close game.
The Eagles cruised to a 3-1 series win over Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado, last weekend, with two games being called early due to the mercy rule.
CSC’s softball team picked up three blowout wins against RMAC opponent Adams State University, but the Eagles faltered in the last game of the weekend, allowing the Grizzlies one win.
Last weekend the CSC softball team traveled to Colorado State University-Pueblo, to play RMAC opponents CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves and the Metropolitan State University- Denver Roadrunners. The Eagles lost both games against Metro (8-3, 2-0) and split agianst CSU-P (11-2, 6-3).
After traveling to Grand Junction, Colorado, to play two conference teams, the Eagles split the four-game weekend, beating Colorado Christian University, Lakewood, twice but losing two to Colorado Mesa University. CSC is now 11-7-1, 6-2 in the RMAC.
Solid pitching and hot bats led the Eagles to win the 4-game series with Regis University, Denver, 3-1. Regis was ranked No. 21 at the time. CSC is now 8-6-1, 3-1 in conference play.
