After 11 innings of play Wednesday, the Chadron State softball team won two games, scored 23 runs and senior Kate Bolin, outfielder of Kearney, broke the team’s all-time record for homeruns.

Amy Schartz, sophomore of Brady, hit a 3-run walk-off homerun in the Eagles’ second game against the Augustana College Vikings Tuesday at home.

Eagle softball went 1-3 to the Metropolitan State College Roadrunners in Denver this weekend.

The Mavericks outscored the Eagles in three of a four game series with 42 runs compared to CSC’s 17. Saturday, the team lost 13-3 and again 13-6. Sunday, the Eagles came through after a 10-1 loss with a 7-6 win over the Mavericks to put the season record at 6-11.

Chadron State softball went 1-4 this weekend at the Desert Stinger tournament hosted by Montana State University-Billings in Las Vegas. The team beat Minot State University 7-4 its first game Friday. The second inning, the Eagles brought in 5 runs and held the lead the rest of the game. Minot State left 11 runners on base.

The Eagle softball scrimmage against the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars was brought to an end during the top of the 10th inning due to rain and lightning, although the Chadron State team was ahead 9-4 before the umpires called the teams off of the field.

The Chadron State softball team had a victorious weekend in Laramie, Wyo., last weekend at the University of Wyoming Tourney.

Chadron softball came out of the dugout and got on the scoreboard early Tuesday. All that stood between securing a seat in the conference tournament was a strong Kearney Lopers team.
