Nationals loom for track and field

Cody Hunt and Jazmyn Webster will soon be competing at the highest level of NCAA DII track and field. But neither Webster, a sophomore jumper from Cheyenne, nor Hunt, a junior shot-putter from Lingle, Wyo., is overly concerned with the pressure of national competition.

Webster, Hunt take first at Pueblo meet

The Eagles track and field team performed well in its outdoor season-opening meet March 24, in Pueblo, Colo., for the CSU-Pueblo Open.

The track athletes put together a decent result. Although the top two spots escaped them in all events, third was attained by Ashley Reisen in the 1500 meter (4:47.27).

Four Eagles place at Indoor Track & Field Championships

Four Eagle athletes spent their midterm break in Mankato, Minn., for the NCAA Division II National Indoor Championships. All four athletes won All-American honors.

Cody Hunt, senior of Lingle, Wyo., competed in the shot put with a throw of 57’3/4”.

Track rounds up handful of weekend wins

CSC track and field athletes were separated yet again this weekend as many of the field participants were in Spearfish, S.D. at the Black Hills Open on Friday, and most of the runners were in Lincoln at the Tune-Up Meet on Saturday.

Track team splits for Iowa and Spearfish meets

Even though they were miles apart, the Chadron State College track athletes finished well as a whole. Eagles participants succeeded in both the Rock and Jock Open in Spearfish, S.D. and the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.

White team clinches intrasquad win

Last Thursday, the Chadron State track and field team got together for the Cardinal and White intrasquad meet. White snatched a win from Cardinal by a score of 378 to 326.

CSC cross country program crosses finish line

On Aug. 24, the NSCS Board of Trustees approved the new program at a meeting in Nebraska City. Baily said that the Board would meet again in the coming weeks to finalize elements of CSC’s newest competitive sport. Head Track and Field coach Ryan Baily called the program the missing piece of the puzzle.

Cross country treks across obstacles

At its Wednesday meeting, the NSCS Board of Trustees voted to approve the addition of a of a Division II NCAA men’s and women’s cross country program to Chadron State’s athletic offerings.

Despite cold and rainy weather, Chadron State’s men’s 4×100-meter relay team won their event and several other athletes placed well at the Jack Christiansen Invitational at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., Saturday.
