The Chadron State women’s volleyball team struggled last Friday and Saturday night in their home openers, losing to the Mountain Lions of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, in straight sets Friday night before losing in four sets to the Metro State University of Denver Roadrunners Saturday.
The CSC volleyball team is once again collecting shoe donations for the Samaritan Feet Youth Volleyball Mission. Shoes can be dropped off at the Chicoine Center from now until Sept. 15, before the game against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
As students settle into the swing of classes and the school year, fall sports also kick off. Last year, the CSC volleyball team failed to make it into the Rocky Mountain Activities Conference Tournament at the end of the year. The first eight seats in the RMAC continue into the post-season. The Eagles finished No. 11.

Eagles return home for 2 weekends of RMAC matchups after losing 2 on the road
The Eagles took three of four sets in a close battle against New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, Friday. CSC couldn’t complete the weekend in Colorado, losing to CSU-Pueblo, 3-2. The Eagles fell to 5-7 RMAC and 6-15 overall.
The Chadron State volleyball team began taking donations for the “Barefoot for Barefeet Shoe Drive” fundraiser on Monday for the Barefoot Match, scheduled for Nov. 5 against Black Hills State University, Spearfish, South Dakota. The fundraiser was created by the Samaritan’s Feet Foundation in their Youth Volleyball Program.
The Eagles grounded the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks in a swift three-set win at the Chicoine Center Friday, but couldn’t complete the weekend, falling to Adams State University, in three sets, Saturday. CSC is now 5-14, with a 4-6 RMAC record.
