Sergeant Jarvis Wallage of the Chadron Police Department talks to students in the Student Center lounge area last Thursday at Coffee and Cookies with Chadron Cops.
Last Thursday, several officers from the Chadron Police Department joined CSC students in the Student Center to share sweets and conversation. The evening was meant to give students an opportunity to ask a wide variety of questions of the officers.
On the subject of parties, Joni Behrends of the Chadron Police Department said, “We all went to college, most of us right here in Chadron. We can tell when a party is happening inside a house.”
She went on to say that officers can spot minors at parties “when someone throws their beer down and runs.”
Former officer Shawn Banzhaf said of those who try to get out of speeding tickets, “Only if you’re crying – and only if you’re my mother.”
