Benefit organizers present check to Red Cross

Last Thursday, the organizers of the “Be a Hero for Haiti” benefit concert presented a check for $569 to a representative of the American Red Cross.

At the presentation were, from left, Jim Sheaffer, a disaster action team member with the Greater Nebraska Panhandle chapter of the American Red Cross; Erin Hanson, senior of Alliance; Bethany Cook, sophomore of Hot Springs, S.D.; and Janie Park, president of Chadron State College. Hanson and Cook planned the Feb. 6 event, which featured two local bands, “Diamond Lion” and “Bahr Flies.”
