Georgia service trip set for spring break

Students going on the 2010 Alternative Spring Break trip are heading to Atlanta over mid-term break from March 5 through 15.

Students will be doing acts of service in the area. Atlanta was hit with severe flooding from September 19 through 25, 2009.

The maximum cost per student is $299. The cost can be reduced through fundraising efforts.
This cost covers transportation, regular meals, and lodging for the entirety of the trip.
The minimum cost per student is $100, which is required as a deposit when students submit their applications.

Applications and liability waivers are available in Crites 108 and 110 as well as the Student Senate office in Student Center. The applications and $100 deposit are due Tuesday in Crites 108.

Deena Kennell, director of internship and career services, said, “Alternative Spring Break is a chance for students to contribute and learn the value of service and to be involved in something more productive.”
