New CAB publicity coordinator appointed

A new publicity coordinator was appointed in Tuesday’s Campus Activities Board meeting, the new student trustee was introduced, and clubs announced upcoming events.

  • Sarah Counts, CAB secretary, reported for treasurer Christine Aye. She said that there is $7442.50 in the treasury.
  • Vice president Jamie Benson was not in attendance.
  • The nominations for publicity coordinator closed at Tuesday’s meeting. Hella Bekele, senior, was the only nomination and was appointed to that position for the remainder of the semester.
  • Dalton Nelson, special and cultural events, said that voting for the senate president, vice-president and amendments to the constitution is taking place in the Student Center from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. today.
  • Student Trustee Doug Liewer said he will be traveling to Peru State College March 25 and 26 for his last trustee meeting. The new Student Trustee, Trevor Dietrich, junior of Mitchell, will be attending the meeting with Liewer.
  • Liewer also said that students should “walk on the sidewalks and stay off the grass and wood chips.” “That’s what they’re for,” he said.
  • The Fourth Annual Blue Key Blue Balls Tournament is set for 5:30 p.m. April 15. Forms are due in the CAB office by noon April 1.
    Each team must consist of six players, with at least two members of the opposite gender. Entries are free.
  • The War Eagle Club will be hosting a pool tournament 9 p.m. Wednesday at Late Night at the Pit.
  • Tami Fosher, RLA director, announced that during Spring Days week, Mr. and Miss Chadron State will be nominated. If interested, see Fosher for a form. She said there will be about $400 in prizes.
