Trio of schools set to perform

Nearly 200 students will be performing at a concert from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. tonight in the Memorial Hall Auditorium.

The Chadron State College Wind Symphony, Chadron Middle School and the Chadron High School will each be performing three pieces individually with a musical piece performed by everyone together as a finale.

The Chadron High School band is using this concert as an opportunity to prepare their pieces for district competition. Chadron State College Wind Symphony will be performing “Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Rolling Thunder” by Henry Fillmore, and “Scenes from the Louvre” by Norman Dello Joio, three musical selections that they will be playing on tour.

The CSC Wind Symphony’s next performance will be a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 8 at the Durham Hall in the Aley Fine Arts Center at Casper College in Casper, Wyo. This concert is free and open to the public.
