CAB allocates $5,000 to Spring Days

Spring Days was the main topic of Tuesday’s Campus Activities Board meeting. Dean of students Kim Bright reported on upcoming registration and other small announcements were made by clubs.

  • CAB President Matt Coe asked that no more than $5,000 be allocated for Spring Days. Each club voted individually with 38 for the allocation and two abstaining. No club voted against.
  • Coe said free movie night will be April 11 during Spring Days.
  • Laure Sinn, coordinator of student events, said there were over 400 people at the Coffey Anderson concert.
  • Treasurer Christine Aye said that there is $7,442.50 in the treasury.
  • Aye also said “budget hearings have been going really well.”
  • Sinn also presented the schedule for Scholastic Day. Scholastic Day will take place Friday, April 9. Lost Autumn, a local band, is scheduled to perform in a free concert at 9 p.m.
  • Kim Bright, dean of students, said class registration will begin April 5 with the new PeopleSoft system. Juniors and seniors will register the first week, and sophomores can register the following week, starting April 11. Bright also said students will register for summer courses with the old system.
  • MTNA announced that David Bohnert, a professor at Wayne State College, is slated to perform 3 p.m. Sunday in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium. The performance has since been cancelled due to an emergency in Bohnert’s family.
