The rodeo team is getting back into full swing this weekend with their first spring rodeo at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington starting Friday.
Rodeo Coach Dustin Luper said the team has been practicing the past month.
“We’ve just been shaking the rust off,” he said. “Torrington should be a good rodeo for all.”
The performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Goshen Pavilion-Arena. The short round is noon Sunday. Slack is at 1 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Rodeo Team’s annual fundraiser, The Black Tie Calf Fry, served up Rocky Mountain Oysters Saturday at the Dawes County Event Center.
Luper said the calf fry raised about $7,600 with 300 people in attendance. He said it wasn’t as good as past years, but still beneficial.
The rodeo team thanks all those “who came to the calf fry and supported rodeo,” Luper said.
About 300 people attended the Black Tie Calf Fry Saturday at the Dawes County Event Center. The rodeo team raised roughly $7,600.
