Read MoreThe students in the HIST 441/541 class are attending a pre-departure orientation meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Student Center Scottsbluff room in preparation for their trip, which is scheduled for August 5 – 17.
During the trip, the students will explore the Canada-U.S. borderlands and Old Oregon Country in particular, which includes the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Western Alberta, as well as Western Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
The urban, environmental, and immigrational history of the regions will be studied as part of the course.
The program participants also organized a fundraiser luncheon from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday in Scottsbluff room.
