‘Lost Autumn’ scheduled for Spring Days
“Lost Autumn” is set to perform April 9 during Spring Days. The band out of Rapid City, S.D., was recruited by RLA and the Student Center Pit.
The band is comprised of five members: Shane Ferguson and Andrew McGlashan, on guitar; Kevin Bradt on bass guitar; Kaleb Britton, on drums; and Steve Glasford for the group’s lead vocals.
The band focuses on making sure that the crowd is having a great time. “We never leave an autograph unsigned,” Ferguson said.
The band is earning some national recognition, with radio stations in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado airing its more popular songs. Their song “Oblivion” won a competition sponsored by Lionsgate Films.
“The competition was for a non-signed band to submit a song for a movie that was coming out,” Ferguson said.
Over 5,000 songs were entered in the competition. “Lost Autumn” beat out 500 finalists to win the competition.
“After winning that competition, we started to get some calls about recording some of our other songs,” Ferguson said.
Chin Music Studios out of Cleveland invited the band to record at their Ohio studios.
“No matter what happens, we still just play for the love of the music,” Britton said.
The success of last year’s performance gives changes to this year’s show.
“When ‘Lost Autumn’ performed last October, we couldn’t handle the amount of people who showed up,” Kyle Keller, co-manager of CSC Pit, said. “Over 300 people arrived and we realized that this time around we just need more space, which is being solved by putting on the show in the Ball Room of the Student Center.”
“We expect the show this time to top over 400 guests,” Keller said.
The performance is free to the public, with Lost Autumn merchandise available for purchase after the show.
