Eagle golf shoots 749 for third

Chadron State College women’s golf team took third place Monday at the Quality Inn Spring Invite in Grand Junction, Colo.

The team placed in the top 20 for the fourth time this season.

As a team, the Eagles shot 749 during the invite.

Samantha Hanson, junior of Chappell, shot an 89 on Sunday and a 90 on Monday to lead the Eagles with an individual 10th place finish with a 179.

Caitlin Parker, junior of Rock Springs, Wyo., placed thirteenth with 185 for both days.

Alissa Peterson, sophomore of Lusk, Wyo., took fifteenth with 187.

Allison Rowden, sophomore of Broken Bow, took finished 19th with 198.

Michelle Haynes, sophomore of Whitney, placed 23rd with 203.

The Mesa State College Mavericks took first in the tournament with a total team score of 670. For second place, the Adams State College Grizzlies shot a total of 733.

The team next competes in the RMAC Spring Tournament April 18-20 in Phoenix.
