Andy Miller features as the groups vocal ‘percussionist’, providing a steady beat and rhythmic tempo through the medium of beat-boxing.
“InPulse,” an a cappella group, performed April 8 at Memorial Hall’s main theatre as the last event of the Galaxy Series, a program that brings the fine arts to Chadron State College.
The all-vocals group, consists of four members: Matt McDonald of Sydney, Australia; Andy Miller of Northfield, Minn.; Elliot Robinson of Decatur, Ill.; and Gabe Koxlien of Strum, Wis.
The performance included songs by Tom Petty, “Little Big Town,” “The Beatles,” and “The Eagles,” in addition to music by numerous other artists.
During the performance, McDonald demonstrated his vocal percussion talents by performing a “drum” solo entirely with sounds produced with his mouth. The performance also included a percussion contest between Miller and McDonald.
The goals of “InPulse” are to “Educate young singers and to push a cappella,” McDonald said.
After the performance “InPulse” met with people from the audience and signed autographs in Memorial Hall’s lobby.
