Last Thursday, students from a lifespan wellness class organized a day-long awareness event aimed at highlighting the effect that wearing shoes has on orthopedic health. Pictured above are the feet of Jovan Mays, senior of Aurora, Colo., who was a participant of the cause.
According to information posted by the class, one million people in Ethiopia suffer from a debilitating disease that is caused by walking barefoot. The group also promoted buying “TOMS” brand of shoes, a corporation that donates money to third-world countries in need of footwear.
