CSC pursuing branded license plate

A Chadron State College-branded license plate may be in the future for some Nebraska vehicle owners.

CSC is working on getting 500 paid registrations for the plate from Nebraskans. Once that milestone is reached, the CSC-themed license plate can be produced.

Currently, CSC is only taking names. Interested Nebraska vehicle owners should contact Karen Pope, director of alumni and annual giving, at [email protected] or 308-432-6357.

Those who contact Pope will be updated on the progress of the project and will not be obligated to pay.

Once the 500 required names are reached, those on the list will be contacted about the licensing fee.

The fee of $70, not including other licensing charges, will be charged to all who agree to get the special plate.

Plates will not be printed without 500 paid registrations. If the plan is successful, the plates will be able to be used on a wide variety of vehicles, including motorcycles and trucks.

Buyers would not be able to customize the plates. For instance, a license plate owner would not be able to have his plate read “EAGLES.”
