Golf season ends at RMAC Championship in Arizona

Chadron State College women’s golf team ended their season taking ninth place during the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Golf Championship in Goodyear, Ariz.

Ten teams participated in the championship that took place Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagle’s overall team total for the tournament was 718.

The team scored 369 on Monday and 349 on Tuesday.

Alissa Peterson, junior of Lusk, Wyo., shot the lowest for the Eagles with a 84 on Monday and a 92 on Tuesday to score a 176.

Michelle Haynes, sophomore of Whitney, with the second lowest score for the team carded a 94 on Monday and a 85 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 179.

Samantha Hanson, junior of Chappell, who shot a total of 180 for the tournament with a 96 for the first day and an 84 the second.

Caitlin Parker, junior of Rock Springs, Wyo., had a total of 183 strokes. Parker also improved from her 95 the first day with a 88 strokes for the second game.

Allison Rowden, sophomore of Broken Bow, finished with a 106 the first day and cut her score by 13 for a 9 the second day. Rowden finished the tournament with 199 total strokes.

Glynnis Price, junior of Shiprock, N.M., won the tournament and carded an overall score of 148 for Western New Mexico University.

Price added six strokes to her first score of 71, but still came out on top after shooting a 77 to bring her total to 148.
Montana State University-Billings took first in the championship with a total team score of 638.

Western New Mexico University took second place carding a total of 644.

The team finished ranked ninth in the RMAC Conference for the entire 2009-2010 season.
