Special Olympics draws 30 participants

Last Saturday, seven CSC students under the guidance of Jamie Rezac, senior of Peetz, Colo., developed and successfully staged the regional Track and Field Special Olympics in the NPAC.

In addition to staging the Olympics, these Chadron State College students also coached Chadron-area Special Olympics athletes.

Ten CSC education majors also volunteered to help the event run smoothly. These volunteers provided the athletes an opportunity to experience the excitement, joy and personal fulfillment associated with sport training and competition.

Approximately 30 athletes competed in sprint, endurance, and throwing events.
