New coach helps Eagles tee-off 2010 season

A new coach and competitive players bring a bright future for the golf team.

Terri Connealy, former coach at Ridgeview Country Club, is eager about the upcoming season.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” Connealy said.

“The past two weeks I have gotten to know the girls well, and the chemistry is great!.”

The team will be competing in five tournaments this fall, opening at Montana State University-Billings Fall Invitational this Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are nine eligible players this season: seniors Sam Hanson of Chappell, Caitlin Parker of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Alissa Peterson of Lusk, Wyo., bring the experience back to the team.

Juniors Allison Rowden of Broken Bow, Ashley Kurtz and Heather Lutter of Valentine, and Michelle Haynes of Whitney, boost the Eagle’s competition.

The two freshmen Shala Sinner and Emilee Pilkington of Scottsbluff, add depth to the roster.

“The competition throughout the team is a healthy thing and the girls will become better golfers because of it,” Connealy said.
The team will be attending three RMAC tournaments.

The tournaments are at Western New Mexico University, Mesa State college, and University of Nebraska-Kearney, and Colorado Christian University.
