Michigan assistant attorney general fired

According to The Michigan Daily, “Andrew Shirvell — the Michigan assistant attorney general engulfed in a firestorm of criticism after he created a blog attacking Michigan Student Assembly President Chris Armstrong — has been fired by the attorney general’s office.”
As Aaron Gonzalez commented in his Oct. 6 column, Shirvell had been publishing bigoted commentary on his blog “Chris Armstrong Watch.”
At that time Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and his office were distancing themselves from Shirvell, although no word of an investigation was yet published.
The Michigan Daily’s Nicole Aber writes, “Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox wrote in a statement released this afternoon that Shirvell ‘was fired for conduct unbecoming a state employee.'”
