CSC theatre brings road show home

Chadron State College’s theatre department is currently touring its production of “Ounce, Dice, Trice,” a children’s book adapted for stage by the students in the Children’s Theatre class.

The production toured every Thursday beginning Nov. 4. It has already gone to schools in Hay Springs, Gordon Rushville, Hemingford, and Alliance. Crawford and Harrison schools are next on the docket, with a final performance in Memorial hall for Chadron schools on Dec. 2.

This showing is not open to the public.

The fourteen-member cast tours with the goal of teaching children about theatre.

Not only do they get to teach children about theatre, the students in this class themselves learn about traveling tours, and especially how to work as a team.

“The more lives we can touch with this show, the better,” Angela Heesacker, senior of Hay Springs, who plays Trice, said.

The next public production of the department is scheduled for Feb. 10, with the performance of “How I Learned to Drive.”
