‘Person of interest’ arrested in missing student case

PERU—A Peru State College student was arrested Wednesday on charges of providing false information and tampering with evidence in connection with the investigation of Tyler Thomas’ disappearance.

Thomas, 19, of Bellevue, went missing early Friday morning after leaving a party three blocks north of PSC’s campus.

“Joshua Keadle, 29, has been identified as a person of interest in the case. He remains in the Nemaha County jail pending a court appearance,” a Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office press release states.

The press release also states, “Peru State College administration and students remain cooperative with the investigation. Keadle has been suspended from Peru State College.”

The search for Thomas was joined Tuesday by trained search dogs from STAR1 Search and Rescue of Iowa and Missouri Search and Rescue.

The Nebraska State Patrol, FBI, Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska City Police Department, as well as Team Adam from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are also assisting The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
