After 12 years, ‘Fight Club’ comes out swinging

Is there any better way to spend a Friday night than watch a psychological thriller? I don’t think so.
I was extremely impressed a few nights ago when I watched “Fight Club” for the first time. This movie had me hooked from the first second, and held my attention the entire time. It has all the signs of a great movie: it is slightly humorous, mysterious, action packed, and has one of those blow-your-mind twists.
The cast is, of course, superb. Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, and Helena Bonham Carter combine to make an excellent ensemble of crazy characters. Norton’s monotone voice make the narration fantastically ironic. Pitt is, to put it simply, a bad-ass, which I never thought I would say about Mrs. Jolie.
With Carter, I am a hugely biased fan. I have a huge girl crush on her. As far as I’m concerned, she can do no wrong when it comes to acting. The way she can be insane and yet somehow inspiring makes her role in this movie one of my personal favorite roles that she has played.
Although I’d love to explain more of the movie, the first rule of “Fight Club” is never talk about “Fight Club.”
As far as I’m concerned, psychological thrillers like “Fight Club” are some of the best out there. There’s nothing better than a huge twist that makes you gasp out loud, and then makes you think about it for days afterward.
Some Friday after a long and difficult week, pick up “Fight Club” for a movie night. It is, in a crazy way, an awesome way to unwind.
