Television conservationist to visit CSC

Jeff Corwin, television celebrity of natural history, will visit CSC as part of the 2010-2011 Galaxy Series. The event will take place at 7 p.m., Feb. 1 in Memorial Hall.
The event is titled “Tales From the Field with Jeff Corwin.”
Corwin will present stories about his experiences in the animal world. During the presentation, he will share why he has a passion for wildlife.
He will also be joined by several exotic animals, most of which will be reptiles.
Corwin has starred in many television shows. “The Jeff Corwin Experience,” which began in 2000, still airs on Animal Planet.
Corwin has also hosted “Corwin’s Quest” which was on Animal Planet for a year, and “Going Wild With Jeff Corwin” which was on Disney Channel from 1997-1999.
Corwin’s Show “Jeff Corwin Unleashed” was nominated four times for an Emmy. In 2004, Corwin won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Host. The following year, he was nominated once more for the same award.
Corwin’s presentation will be the first Galaxy Series event of 2011 and follows the events that occurred last semester such as the Chris Cagle concert and “An Evening with Groucho Marx.”
The Galaxy Series so far this year has started to draw more student attention.
Because Corwin, like Cagle is so well-known, his presentation has the potential to pack the auditorium.
Due to the popularity of this upcoming event, tickets are almost sold out. Students can get tickets at the Box Office in Memorial Hall, free of charge.
Tickets can also be reserved by contacting the CSC box office at 308-432-6207 or [email protected]. If still available, tickets will also be sold at the door.
