Golf tees off spring season in Billings

The golf team is currently competing in the Billings Spring Invitational at Montana State University in Billings Mont.

The tournament started Wednesday and continues until Friday.

This year’s golf team has nine members.

Seniors this year are Caitlin Parker of Rock Springs and Alyssa Peterson of Lusk, Wyo.

Michelle Haynes of Crawford, Ashley Kurtz and Heather Lutter of Valentine, and Allison Rowden of Broken Bow, are the juniors on the roster.

Freshman include Chelsea Murrell of Mitchell, and Emilee Pilkington and Shala Sinner of Scottsbluff.

The golf team saw a general improvement over the fall season, starting their first tournament with a team score of 713, then going on to make a team score of 686 at the next tournament. The final match of the season saw Chadron State in last place with 747.

The spring season will include five tournaments throughout March and April.
