‘Gotcha!’ gets campus
The “Gotcha!” event has taken CSC by storm this week as over 130 students and faculty participate in the campus-wide event. “The turnout is beyond my expectations,” said Nathan Pindell, “Gotcha!” coordinator and referee. “Especially the faculty turnout. I wasn’t expecting that.”
“Gotcha!” started with 132 registered players, and 28 currently remain.
“Gotcha!” officially took-off Friday, and will last until everyone is “shot.” “You get more bang for CAB’s buck when you have an event last longer,” said Pindell.
CAB allocated $1,500 towards the purchases of Nerf guns from Hasbro. $1,200 was actually spent so the rest will go back to CAB.
A $100 grand prize will be awarded to the last person standing, but there are many challenges throughout the game for additional prizes.
Alex Rodriguez was in first place standing until he was shot Tuesday.
There will be a chance for people to participate who weren’t able to when “Gotcha!” started. “CSC Standoff” will bring together anyone who didn’t have a chance to play and the winner will have a spot in the game.
“We might do a last hoorah where there will be a grab bag event of leftover prizes for competitors,” said Pindell.
I would like to say thank you to all of the “Gotcha!” participants. I’ve already been asked if we’re doing this again next year.” said Pindell
“Gotcha!” is sponsored and coordinated by The Pit and co-sponsored by Chi Alpha, NOCS, men and women’s rugby, and War Eagles.
