CSC to light up with school spirit

A ceremony for CSC’s centennial Homecoming will take place at 6:45 p.m., Wednesday. The letter C on the north side hill of the campus will radiate its own school spirit. Cardinal Key has organized the event with the help of Physical Facilities Coordinator, Blair Brennan and the CSC maintenance to present this tradition in a new way.
The history of lighting C-hill goes way back to the 1920s where students and the community joined together to walk up the hill and illuminate the “C” with bags filled with candles, flashlights, or glow sticks.
Cardinal Key has sponsored the lighting of “C” hill since 1983.
This year will be the first time that the lighting of “C” hill will be powered by a generator.
A layout of 12 durable light fixtures has been mounted on the outside edges of the “C”. Brennan stated that the extensive electrical system has been a great success.
“The electricians have done a great job with the installation process,” Brennan said.
A fund established for the centennial is covering the expense to light the “C.”
The ceremony will begin at 6:20 p.m. in front of the Clock Tower where participants will gather to walk to the West end of Old Admin.
The lighting of C-hill will then occur at roughly 6:45 p.m.
C-hill will be lit throughout the week’s homecoming activities.
