Executive board discusses homecoming
The Campus Activities Board focused on homecoming events at the meeting, Tuesday.
Samantha Evans, treasurer, said the CAB account contains $6,450.
Luke Wright, president, said that next week is homecoming. There will be posters around campus listing the homecoming events, which include dress up days to promote school spirit. Free movie night midnight is Saturday at the Eagle Movie Theater. Tickets are free for the first 300 students. Movies playing are Friends with Benefits, Our Idiot Brother, Driven, and The Help. Students need to bring their IDs, Wright said.
Bed sheets are due 5 p.m., today at the senate office, Wright said. Senate still has free bed sheets if any clubs need them.
Wright said that the student senate wants to hear students’ opinions about the upcoming renovations to the library. He passed out surveys for club representatives to complete.
Sara Labor, student events coordinator, said the theme for Late Night at the Pit is board games. The event is 9 p.m., Thursday at the Student Center Pit.
The Eagle Football Team will play Adams State College noon, Saturday at the Elliot Field. There will be a tailgate party at 10:30 a.m., Labor said.
Laure Sinn, adviser, encouraged students to get involved in homecoming events, since the centennial celebration is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Riley Machal, student trustee, said she will be shooting free t-shirts into the crowd at the football game Saturday as part of position as trustee. Senate elections are Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Student Center.
Evans said that Crestview Nursing Home has asked participants in the homecoming parade to drive their floats past Crestview so residents can see them. Wright said that people who are interested in doing this can drive by before or after the parade.
Applications for the Senate Finance Committee are due Friday, Sept. 30, Evans said.
James Bahenksy, student senate vice president, said that starting this Saturday at the football game, there will be school spirit activities during sporting events. At the half-time of the football game, students who catch a football that is tossed into the stands will get to play games on the field to win Wal-Mart gift cards.
