CAB wraps-up homecoming talks
The focus of the Campus Activities Board meeting on Tuesday was the schedule of events for homecoming week, which is Sept. 24 – Oct. 1.
Luke Wright, president, said approximately 100 students attended last Saturday’s late night movie. He encouraged students to vote for their favorite bed sheets in the bed sheet contest.
Shellie Johns, adviser, said CSC will have a professional fireworks show for the first time on campus at 9 p.m., Saturday behind Burkhiser.
The display cost $5000. Johns encouraged students to attend the show. Johns said there will be two live eagles on display in front of Crites Hall on Saturday in honor of the CSC mascot.
Jazzy Seumalo, special and cultural events coordinator, said that students who dress up for the Theme Days can register at The Eagle Pride Bookstore to win a $100 gift card.
Sara Labor, student events coordinator, said the 5K Eagle Run is 8 a.m., Saturday at 12th and Main Street. The homecoming football game versus Pueblo State College is 1:30 p.m., Saturday at Elliot Field, Labor said.
Adam Neumann, publicity coordinator, said the Phantom is haunting CSC again. The phantom was a hoax constructed by a few college students in the 1960s. The Phantom has reappeared for homecoming. Students who see him on campus can take a picture and upload it to his Facebook page “The Phantom of Chadron State College,” to win a prize.
James Bahenksy, senate vice president, said that senate is selling the remainder of the “Tradition Never Graduates” shirts 11 a.m., Saturday, on the Dean’s Green. Shirts are $5 for students.
