The CSC softball team hosted their third annual Home Run Derby on Monday and Wednesday. The 62 participants raised approximately $400 that went straight to the team. The money will be used to purchase new equipment and traveling gear.

Out of the contestants, five finalists competed Wednesday night after the scrimmage against Western Nebraska Community College. Each contestant had 10 hits against one of the three pitchers from the CSC softball team.

Brandon Gorsuch, 22, junior of Rapid City, S.D., won the derby with four homeruns; Kevin Lindholm, 21, junior of Eads, Colo., took second with two homeruns; Dustin Stadola, 20, junior of Clarkson, and Isaac Hughes, 21, junior of Hay Springs, tied for fourth with one hit; Jake McCrary, 21, sophomore of Valentine took fifth with no runs.  Gorsuch won two gift cards, for a total of $50, and the other finalists received CSC Softball apparel.
