Centennial celebration concludes with an explosive finale.

Individuals as far away as Whitney reported seeing the glare of the fireworks display that occurred Saturday evening shortly after 9 p.m.

Shellie Johns, coordinator of conferencing, said in the Sept. 27 CAB meeting that approximately $5,000 had been spent for the show, and that each firework cost between $100 and $150 a piece.

In Tuesday’s CAB meeting, Johns said that the reception to the show was quite positive.

Johns also said that a fireworks display was planned for Wayne State’s homecoming, but the fire department in Wayne did not approve the display, and so expressed the belief that CSC was fortunate to have its show approved.

The show lasted for approximately nine minutes.
