The Eagles’ most recent game ended with a hard-fought battle against the UNK Lopers that ended with a 20-13 score in favor of UNK.

Chadron State travelled to Cope Stadium in Kearney for a noon kickoff against the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers Saturday for the seventy-first and final time.

The game was lauded by commentators Larry Punteney (play-by-play) and John Bishop (color analysis) as an admirable show from CSC, considering their injured bench.

The event was broadcast state-wide by Nebraska’s PBS station, NET Television, which offered a live webcast of the game.

NET Television presented an interview they conducted with CSC head coach Bill O'Boyle during the live webcast.

The Lopers are transferring athletic conferences from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, a change which will take hold in 2012.

“This is potentially the last football game played between the two schools and so I’m excited this game and rivalry is getting the exposure it deserves,” Chadron State athletic director Brad Smith said in a CSC Sports Information statement.
