Sigma Tau Delta to host annual Scream Slam
Sigma Tau Delta and the English and Humanities Department are hosting their annual Scream Slam event tonight in the Bordeaux Room of the Student Center.
A meet and greet with faculty will begin at 7 p.m., and the Scream Slam, which is similar to an open mic event, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Faculty, as well as students, are welcome. Participants can read Halloween-themed short stories and poetry or original written works.
Participants will be judged in several different categories including poetry, prose, original reading, best costume, and best overall reading. Prizes include gift cards and an Amazon Kindle as the grand prize.
Those participating are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes, and snacks will be provided. Nick Miller, Sigma Tau Delta president, said he hopes to get many people involved in this event.
