White team clinches intrasquad win

Last Thursday, the Chadron State track and field team got together for the Cardinal and White intrasquad meet. White snatched a win from Cardinal by a score of 378 to 326.

In the women’s competition, four athletes finished with wins in multiple events. Stacee Craig, a senior from Powell, Wyo., Ashley Resin, junior of Chadron, and sophomores Alyssa Norton of Rushville and Jazmyn Webster of  Cheyenne, Wyo., all finished with multiple event wins. Resin, who won both the 600 meters and 1200 meter run, set a new meet record in the 1200 with a time of 3:53.50, beating record from last year.

For the men, both Karl McFarlane, sophomore from Montego Bay, Jamaica, and freshman Carith Kapukotuwa, from Sri Lanka, finished with wins in multiple events. Also for the men, junior Lincoln Proud, of Pinedale, Wyo., broke the meet record for the 600 meter dash with a time of 1:26. The old record was set last year by sophomore Derek Wood, of Green River, Wyo., with a time of 1:27.57.

The Eagles track and field team will officially start their season this weekend when they travel to Kearney for the UNK vs. CSC Pre-Holiday Dual.
